Description
Sunrise at Pyramid Lake, north of Reno Nevada. Named for its famous pyramid shaped formations on the east side of the lake, it is the largest remnant of ancient Lake Lahontan that covered much of northwestern Nevada at the end of the last ice age. The Truckee River is the only tributary, and the lake was once endangered by upriver agriculture.
