About Janis Knight
Janis Knight has been photographing nature and landscapes for over thirty years. When the digital age of photography became feasible (and affordable) around 2005, Home Planet Images evolved from years of film experimentation, study, and darkroom experience. “Images alive as the nature that inspired them” was the somewhat pretentious but optimistic theme of a new incarnation of that body of work.
Based in Northern Nevada, Janis knows the area well with its diverse landscapes, wildlife, and seasonal wonders. Current projects include a photographer’s guide to the Eastern Sierra Nevada Corridor and an expansion of “The Birds,” which includes resident and migratory species of the northwest Nevada area.
