Artist's Description

The beautiful "Clothespin" tree in Yosemite National Park. Countless fires throughout the decades nearly severed this tree's trunk, creating a space in it large enough for a small truck to drive through. This giant is in the famous mariposa Grove.

Mariposa Grove, located in southern Yosemite National Park, is home to several hundred Giant Sequoias, which are some of the largest and oldest trees in the world. The Clothespin Tree is located about one mile past the entrance to Mariposa Grove.

A tram is available to escort visitors to the groves most popular sites.

About Janis Knight

A background in drawing and painting helped her develop her style using elements of composition and light. She began displaying photos in the Tri-county fair in Northern Nevada, often winning best of show and superior ribbons, and her photos hung in businesses around town. Finally, in 2001, she was able to attend University of Nevada, Reno, where she studied black and white film photography...
