Lightning strikes over the western hills of Pyramid Lake, north of Reno Nevada, Sept 2017. This photo was featured on the cover of the 2018 Wild Nevada calendar. It also placed first in the "Lightning Photography" contest, June 2022.
Pyramid Lake is the geographic sink of the basin of the Truckee River, 40 mi northeast of Reno, Nevada, United States. Pyramid Lake is the biggest remnant of ancient Lake Lahontan, the colossal inland sea that once covered most of Nevada. (Wikipedia)
